We break down where to go shopping for streetwear in New York City. If you don’t know where to start, try checking out SOHO, an area of lower Manhattan that is world-renowned for its shopping selection. In SOHO you’ll find everything from luxury brands, cosmetics, and home goods, to up-and-coming streetwear brands. Given that the commercial space is so expensive to rent in SOHO, many brands opt for areas just outside of SOHO in areas like NOHO, Nolita, The Bowery, and Lower East Side.
However, you will find streetwear options outside of lower Manhattan. Most notably, Dover Street Market, is situated randomly in Kips Bay at 31st and Lexington, approximately 2 miles from SOHO.
Our guide focuses on the highly concentrated area in lower Manhattan, but we’ll give you our best picks for some other neighborhoods.

Upper East Side Streetwear Stores
The Upper East Side doesn’t have a ton of options for streetwear, but there are a few good spots. There’s enough variety that you’ll be able to put together a pretty solid option.
For hype beasts and luxury seekers, we recommend checking out Bergdorf Goodman where you can shop a variety of brands including Rhude, Amiri, Comme des Garcons, Rick Ownes, and more. There is also a Balenciaga store very close by.
For those of you like myself, who can’t afford the super high-end, there is a Bape Store, and then further uptown you’ll see stores like New Balance and Nike. While this guide isn’t focused on secondhand, we do have to recommend 2nd Street Upper East Side, since there are so few options for streetwear here.
